Current Works

My experience of relocating to this beautiful place with a small hometown feel that reminds me of my past has had an interesting effect on my artwork. 

Some of my experimental, more colorful and playful, pieces made without self-imposed rules during the Pandemic lockdown were surprisingly well received by viewers at Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly. 

In gratitude for the freeing effect that the last few years have unexpectedly given me, I am choosing to follow in this vein of work as long as it continues to be an interesting current challenge.  I think about these as an embracing of Light and lightness. Recent drawings remind me of my beginnings as a serious artist, the style having led to my former deep involvement with the printmaking form, lithography.

These works began with collaging selected portions of my own hand-marbled papers, then using colored pencils and (sometimes) gouache or watercolor washes, to complete the compositions.
